Now for something different: a non-craft hard seltzer. This saccharine sweet beverage is called Bang Mixx, Strawberry Blast flavor. Bang is the brand owned by a company called VPX Pharmaceuticals. This company has been around since the early 90’s, mostly producing sports supplements and drinks. Bang is their energy drink brand, and the rising popularity in hard seltzer’s was too good not for VPX to want a piece of. So we have whatever strange abomination Bang Mixx is.

Bang Mixx comes in a few flavors including Strawberry Blast, Piña Colada, and Purple Kiddles (I’m not certain what flavor that’s supposed to be, and frankly I was too scared to try it). It tastes like a diet strawberry soda, or maybe a fizzy sugar free sports drink. It’s very artificial tasting, but doesn’t seem to have the alcoholic flavor that you might find in a White Claw. This does have alcohol in it, but you might not even know it if someone didn’t tell you. It’s 5% ABV, but it just tastes like strawberry candy made of Sweet-N-Low. It may be advisable to do as the name suggests and “mixx” some liquor if you want to get a proper buzz.

I don’t recommend this at all. I don’t like artificial sweeteners. I’m not even sure this would be good for a buzz. Avoid at all costs.
