Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Review by @Kush_Hayes
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the third best Jurassic Park movie ever.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the third worst Jurassic Park movie ever.
Thats how mediocre this movie is.
I dont want to write negative reviews, but this should have been better what we were given in 2015s Jurassic World.
The bar for the original 1993 Jurassic Park is so high, that itd be amazing if this was even within arms reach of its quality. Thanks to nostalgia, the last movie was just within arms reach of that goal.
Lets get the bad out of the way, with out nitpicking, this could be 30 mins shorter. However whats in that 30 mins is still fun. But this movie shouldnt be 2 hours 15 mins long. That also means cutting out the first fist fight in the Jurassic franchise. It means ditch the unnecessary kid character, which thanks to sci-fi nonsense became one of my favorite things about this movie. That includes getting rid of James Cromwell. Get rid of the ret-con of Chris Pratt having a deeper relationship with Blue the Velociraptor. Dont put Bryce Dallas Howard in another physically impossible situation for her to shrug off.
Casting for our Mustache Twirler must have been stated as: Looking for Ryan Reynolds Type.
Casting for his muscle must have been stated as: Looking for Gritty Robert DeNiro Type.
Positives, I appreciate that they finally blew up the island, so we will never see the tease of anyone thinking of another family friendly park with dinosaurs or cowboys.
I enjoyed the action as well as its various set pieces.
I enjoyed Chris Pratt. I even enjoy his relationship with Blue. As stated above, I liked the shoehorned-in kid character. However I was the only one in my screening who reacted to her reveal.
Theres a post credit scene. Its 100% unnecessary.
This isnt a bad summer movie, but it should have been better than what it was.
3 out of 6 Blueberries.
