Girl in the Spiders Web Passport Promotion
“Before you go, please take this” She pulls from the inside of her coat, a black passport cover. She looks at the outside worn cover, smiles and then hands it over. “Our mother used to keep her passport in this. She said it was her lucky charm.” Lizbeth Salander embraced her sister one last time before Camilla was escorted over the border line.
A possible scene like this is what I thought I was in store for when AMC Theaters were handing out “Black faux-Leather Passport Covers” as a promotion for early screenings of The Girl in the Spiders Web as an event called “Girls Night Out”
Surprisingly Girls Night Out is not a great place to meet women.
As mentioned in my review for the movie of the same name, I have not seen any of the original or remade Dragon Tattoo movies. My understanding of this movie, my understanding of this character was this vigilante hacker who avenges victimized women helping them escape their antagonists and abusers. I would have figured fake passports would come into the scenario at some point.
And maybe this is true in any of the previous original three, however, there is not one passport in this movie. Theres no mention of real passports. Fake Passports. LaKeith Stansfield gets arrested at one point and while he questions if theyll deport him back to the States, his passport is nowhere to be seen or mentioned.
Dont get me wrong, its a really nice cover. I actually wonder if my passport would fit in it. However I think Id be slightly embarrassed to display it the next time Im trying to enter Holland.
I just wanted to get that off my chest.
